Winner of First Presidential Debate Receives Award in OC

In February of 2007, Dennis Kucinich easily triumphed in the first presidential debate of the season. On March 24, 2007, Kucinich will be receiving the Congressman of the Year award in Orange County.

Those who were skeptical about his chances in 2004 are now saying Kucinich’s chances for a 2008 victory are excellent. "He is better known," "He is the only peace candidate," and "He has better presentation skills than the other candidates," are comments heard from many political observers.

According to the members of the Patrick Henry Democratic Club of America, the national organization presenting Kucinich the award, he has a perfect voting record when it comes to human rights, the environment, choice, and peace. They should know. The Patrick Henry Democrats have an extensive voting chart that rates all members of Congress and they don't pull any punches. On their chart, it's not easy to get a perfect score. Yet, the chart shows Dennis Kucinich never failed to vote in the interests of the public.

Peace activists are thrilled at Kucinich's consistent opposition to the war. One peace supporter, a seventeen year old student named Gary, pointed out that "Obama has betrayed the peace movement by voting for war appropriations, and Edwards joined Bush in leading America into war and taking away our rights."

In addition to being a popular Presidential candidate, Kucinich is the head of the Subcommittee on Government Oversight that is investigating the Bush Administration. Attending this event would be a great opportunity for students and those wanting to learn more about the Government of the United States.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 24th at the IBEW hall at 309 N. Rampart, Orange, CA 92628. They are asking those who can to contribute $25 to 2300 to Dennis Kucinich's 2008 campaign. However, this event is being put on by an organization that never turns anyone away for monetary reasons. This is a great opportunity for members of the public to come and meet Congressman Kucinich.

The North Orange County Democratic Club is co-sponsoring the event. For more information, see http://kucinichwinsoc.org/ or call 714-953-0187
